I am making these little Christmas brag books for gifts this year. They are so so easy to put together. The inside pages to hold your photos are made using StampinUp's clear envelopes. All materials used were SU.

Shoebox Swap

I designed this card for a shoebox swap this weekend. I used all SU products. I used the swirl from Baroque Motifs and embossed with versamark and silver powder. The ornaments are from Delightful Decorations. Used night of navy ink. Add a little rhinestone in one ornament and the new shimmer paint for the sentiment. Love it!!

MOJO is back!

I am finally posting, it has been a crazy month for me. These 2 layouts are 6x6 for a swap that teach0123 is hosting. When swapped we will have the 2 page layouts for the entire year. I signed up for a bunch of spots because I plan to give these to all my scrapbooking buddies for Christmas this year. For June I used on of my SU kits that was retired. For January I used the Cold and Cuddly set.

Life's a beach

My layout for the Cricut swap the Melanie is hosting. This layout is perfect for photos from a day at the beach. I used my SU shell wheel for the sand and cut the various shapes from the Life's a beach cartridge.

Down on the Farm

This is another layout that I designed for swap that Melanie is hosting. This is my day at the farm layout. I used the My world cartridge to cut the barn and tractor out, paper dolls for the fence and hay/grass. I made the door of the barn open up and inside it says" A day in the COUNTRY is worth a month in town". . I think I will add some white clouds, it looks like it is missing something. I am also attaching some ribbon and brads for each person receiving this swap. The brads have are cute little farm animals. I love to visit farms in the fall, we are looking forward to apple picking and going to the pumpkin farms this year. Hope you like my layout.

THe Best Day Ever Spongebob Layout

This is another Cricut Layout for a swap Melanie hosted. I actually had 4 different spots. Can you believe that coffee got spilled all over all 3 of the 4 sets. The Spongebob was the only one that was not effected as it was bagged already. I would have been really angry if that layout was ruined because that little sponge is time consuming to put together. I really love the 12X12 glitter paper I found on clearance at Target. It is really a nice background for this layout. It is the best day ever for me as my cricut swaps are all on the way to Melanie (coffee free)!!

Cricut Layout

I created this layout for a Cricut swap I am in that mnewby is hosting. This is my 4th of July Layout using the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge to create the stars and letters. The design and layout was a complete case, I liked it so much.

Finally

It has been awhile since I posted, I forgot how hectic August can be. Last minute vacations, children returning to school makes for a very chaotic home. It seems like I lost my crafting mojo this summer. I am attending a stamp camp in September and that usually gets me back in the swing of things. I have so many projects to catch up on and I know how quickly Christmas will be here. I will post some photos in my next post.

What's in a Name??

After much much discussion our family finally agreed on a name for our new puppy. She is a Havanese (weighs in at 3.16lbs and will get to about 12 -15 lbs) We decided to call her Harley Quinn or just plain Harley for short ! No, I am not into motorcycles nor do I read romance novels . So here is the significance behind her name...... The dog has a constant grin (it is really a line of black fur that makes her look like she is smiling) and reminds us of the Joker from Batman. Anyways when she is laying on her back her ears go up her eyes get goofy and her Joker grin is very prominent. Since she is a female we couldn't name her Joker. Did you know that the Joker has a girlfriend in the comic series/animated series? Neither did I, her name is Harley Quinn. So here is a photo of the Joker's girlfriend Harley Quinn and our puppy. Hence the name for our new puppy Harley! I know I am strange but It is the creative part of me that is always present even when choosing a name for our pooch!

CCC # 7

Made this little tin box for my son to put his little treasures from our trips this summer. It was made for the Crafty Critter Challenge to make a 3d item that screams SUMMER. The paper and ribbon was from the Target $ section. The paper is cute...but way to thin for my liking.

I need to clean my room before I can show you my real room. Right now it looks like a tornado hit my craft room.

Craft Room

Okay, so here are some photos of my craft room. Well the one I dream about every night. The organized clean scrappers dream room, the one we all long to have. One day I will have a room like this. My real room looks nothing like this in fact I am to embarrassed to take a photo.

CCC#4

For crafty critter challenge and a SU demo challenge. I have to say... I love this card. I am going to devote a class to just masking, brayering and sunset type of cards . The CCC #4 challenge was to use flowers so I used the SU Upsy Daisy set. For the demo challenge It was our fav embellishment? Who has just one favorite? I went with brads because they are so easy to use and just add that little somethin to a card.

Cricut Pool party Invite

My youngest is having a pool party for his 7th b-day. I find this hard to believe but I do not own one single stamp with a pool theme. (might have to order some from the SU occassions mini). Anyways so I reached for the old reliable and cut this from the Cricut cartridge Life's a beach. I had some extra blue plastic film from the kids Easter baskets and voila! I did not have time to do fancy layering. In the photo you will notice I found another use for toilet paper.

CCC3 - AN EGGSELLENT CHALLENGE

This is my egg for the crafty critter challenge. The challenge was to color egg with craft items. I did my favorite technique -embossing. The egg was stamped with the flower from baroque motifs with a versamark pad emobossed with white powder and sponged with brocade blue ink. It needed a little bling so i added little rhinestones to the middle of each flower. Two things to remember when embossing an egg. 1)It takes much longer to emboss (must not absorb or something like paper) 2)the egg gets stinken hot! It is also hard to hold the egg and emboss and i think I might have 2nd degree burns on one of my fingers. So be careful when you emboss on eggs. Otherwise I am pleased with the results. I may have to use SU ink next year on my eggs and skip buying a egg coloring kit.

Faux Leather

This is for a demo swap that I participate in monthly. This month we needed to make a collage style card. I must admit this was really hard for me to come up with an idea. Anyways, I used a faux leather technique using masking tape and the new SU sense of time stamp set. I embossed with clear powder and this is the results.

Sunday, March 29, 2009

Wow woke up to a lovely snowy spring day in Chicago. So I decided to catch up on my swaps. This is another Cricut layout for a swap that Melanie is hosting. I did a bug layout. I loved they way this came out. I cut the jar out of white card stock and then added a layer of transparency paper over. It looks like the bugs are actually in a jar!

Saturday, March 28, 2009

Here is one of 3 layouts that I am doing for a swap that Melanie is hosting. This is a Cricut layout, and I kept this one really simple. I used my Cricut for everything except the photo boxes.

Spring Cleaning/Organize

Wanted to share something I found the other day..... I am forever trying to organize my scrap/craft room and found this new photo organizer at Michaels . With a 40 % coupon it was about 20.00. There are 12 seperate little plastic holder that will store and protect over 1,000 4x6 sized photos, each individual plastic storage container holds over 100 photos. Made by iris. I just love it.

Rain,Rain Go Away!

So it rained and rained and rained some more here in Illinois this weekend. Nothing to do but scrap the weekend away. I really needed to finish up some swaps so I finished my little brother page for the big brother/little brother that Kelli is hosting. Here is my Lil Bro page. I made 4 different sets and used up alot of misc. paper that I had. Hope you like it.

Ahoy Matey!

Here is another layout for a swap on SCS that 2goofy hosted. The requirement was to use stamps to create layout. I needed a pirate theme page so this is what I came up with. It is hard to see in the photo but I used a versamark champagne pad to stamp the boat and x marks the spot. This versamark pad leaves a little shimmer on the page.

Monday, March 2, 2009

I totally cased this layout from one of my scrapbook idea books, changed a few little things. The buckle was created using my cricut and I embossed the tag with silver powder to make it look like a buckle. I also used white chalk ink and inked all of the paper to give it the washed over look. This is for a big brother/lil brother swap that Keli is hosting. I will start on the lil bro page next.

Under Construction

I love to read and get ideas from other peoples blogs. I am new to creating my own. Please be patient with me as I create this blog.
